5/8- another day of mixing for the new CD- Instru/Mentalist, with Andy Plaisted at Electric Andyland in Somerville. We decided to re-track the mandolin part on one of the songs. I originally tracked it with an Eastman 915, which plays wonderfully, and is it very fast, but it was too bright. I was looking for more of a folky wooden sound, And it just wasn’t going to happen by e.q.-ing or compressing and bandwidths on the Eastman. I’ll have to re-track it using an old 30s Gibson A model that was underneath my aunts bed for about 60 years. The neck is slow and wide, but it should fit the track better.
