Mixing for the new cd

5/8- another day of mixing for the new CD- Instru/Mentalist, with Andy Plaisted at Electric Andyland in Somerville. We decided to re-track the mandolin part on one of the songs. I originally tracked it with an Eastman 915, which plays wonderfully, and is it very fast, but it was too bright. I was looking for more of a folky wooden sound, And it just wasn’t going to happen by e.q.-ing or compressing and bandwidths on the Eastman. I’ll have to re-track it using an old 30s Gibson A model that was underneath my aunts bed for about 60 years. The neck is slow and wide, but it should fit the track better.

Hello, Steven! I’m believe I was your third grade teacher at Jefferson School in Red Wing, Minnesota about fifty years ago. That year you played “Silent Night” on your guitar when we visited a nursing home near the school. This evening I happened to listen to the audio tape our class made as a present for my parents that Christmas. Then I searched your name on my phone, and your site opened up, and there was that same face all grown up! I wasn’t surprised you were such an accomplished musician, but the diversity of the instruments you’ve mastered made me smile 😊 Congratulations! Although I no longer live in Red Wing, I’m there about once a week, and I often drive by the street you lived on. I wish you well and hope all is well with the people who are important in your life ~ Fondly, Miss Herron Mrs. Sutherland
